LOVE FOOD??? But don't think you're sporty???

I found the following quote and it gave me a little 'food for thought', pardon the pun.

"Eating is really one of your indoor sports. You play 3 times a day and its
well worth while to make the game as pleasant as possible"
                                                                                                  Dorothy Draper.

On reading this I thought, is that a great consolation for those that think they're
not the sporty type or what?? At last, a sport anyone can excel at. This quote got me thinking, reality is, we all have to eat so we should make cooking as enjoyable as possible. This is essentially my approach and philosophy towards cooking. We can look at it as a chore or we can approach it with enjoyment and laughter. Having a sense of humour is vital for any cook, especially for those cooking moments where its more Master Flop than MasterChef, and even the best of us have those times. So I challenge everyone who has the responsibility of cooking for themselves or others, to embrace this quote and turn the "Oh I can't be bothered cooking" into "What can I make next?"

     And if all else fails.......

Food quote......Apprehensive about Cooking???

The only real stumbling block is fear of failure. In cooking you've got to have a what-the-hell attitude.”

Another food quote

I really like the following quote as it is so true, those special foods that Mum's make definitely hold memories whether good or bad, lucky for me I have more good than bad memories when it comes to food.

I don't know what it is about food your mother makes for you, especially when it's something that anyone can make - pancakes, meat loaf, tuna salad - but it carries a certain taste of memory.”

Why I share my recipes

I found the following quote and to me it summed up my thoughts on sharing my recipes with others. Keeping a great recipe to yourself, to me, just seems stingy, I love sharing my recipes with others because I hope their family loves my treasured recipe as much as I do.

I hate the notion of a secret recipe. Recipes are by nature derivative and meant to be shared - that is how they improve, are changed, how new ideas are formed. To stop a recipe in it's tracks, to label it "secret" just seems mean.”
