SAUSAGE ROLLS...YOU JUST CAN'T BEAT THE HOME MADE TASTE

I know some will be thinking, why on earth would you want to make sausage rolls when they are so cheap to buy??? The answer is simply, the taste and that other important factor......I know what is actually in them. Home made sausage rolls are a great way for parents, and others who struggle with their  daily vegetable quota, to add vegies to their meal in a manner which entices everyone to 'eat their vegies'. I have made this recipe many times for my children and they really like them....so go on, have a go...you might just be surprised.
                                                            SAUSAGE ROLLS

500g Beef Mince
1 cup grated Carrot
1 cup grated Zucchini
1 cup frozen Mixed Vegetables, mashed
1 Onion
3/4 cup Dried Breadcrumbs
1/2 cup grated Tasty Cheese
1 Egg, lightly beaten
2 T chopped Parsley
3 sheets Puff Pastry
Milk, for brushing

1. Preheat oven to hot, 220 degrees celsius. Lightly grease and line 2 oven
    trays with baking paper.

2.  In a large bowl, combine mince, vegetables, breadcrumbs, cheese, egg and
parsley. Season to taste and mix well.

3. Cut pastry sheets in half, length-ways. Arrange one-sixth sausage mixture
length-ways along each pastry strip. Roll over to enclose filling.

4. Cut each roll into 6 pieces. Place seam side down on tray. Brush tops lightly
    with milk.

5. Bake for 20-25 mins. until pastry is puffed and golden. Serve with tomato
   sauce.
